According to Wikipedia, the source of All World Knowledge (sorry, Chris), the Leonard Cohen song "Hallelujah" has been covered by every recording artist on the face of the planet. All of them. Every last one.

Okay, maybe not all of them, but definitely Rufus Wainwright. And Jeff Buckley. And Allison Crowe, Kate Voegele, Alexandra Burke, John Cale, and Leonard Cohen. Yes, the song has been recorded so many times that even the original artist has covered it. I submit that "Hallelujah" is the musical equivalent of a singularity.

What's your favorite version?

Of the fifteen bajillion times it has been used in movies and television, which is most memorable to you?

Do you even like the song?

I love the song, but I personally believe that the best version was put together by Jeff Buckley:

It really puts a tremendous amoint of feeling into the song. It blew me away the first time I heard it.

I must be the only person who doesn't really like the song.

I was of the mistaken opinion that "Big Yellow Taxi" was the one song that every band on the planet had covered.

I like Cohen's original version, too. Wikipedia says he's done two versions: the original in eighty-sommat, then a longer version in '94 with nigh-completely revised lyrics. I don't think I'm familiar with the latter, but I like the former. In fact, I like Cohen a lot; he's got an interesting voice.
