News: The moat dredging is scheduled for 1200 hours this Wed. Petunia (the giant squid) will be irritable during this time. We recommend using the south entrance instead of the drawbridge. --Mgmt.

Though a cry of woe has not yet been raised, I have no doubt whatsoever that many of you are wondering why there was no Secret Poll posted on Thursday or Friday, and why the third question of The Secret Quiz, Week 1 did not appear on Friday. Those more familiar with the intricacies of our operations are probably expecting us to blame these absences on some sort of temporal anomaly or a digital singularity that swallowed the individual ones and zeroes that made up these posts.

Well, not this time. No, in this instance the cause is rather more mundane than what you might expect from your Overlords.

The truth is that I was very, very busy, and I didn't have time to post on Thursday or Friday.

There you have it. Perfectly mundane, incredibly human.

And I am human. Of course I am. Why would you think otherwise? Why would anyone who isn't human freely admit to being a perspiring, respiring, stinking, dimwitted primate only just barely able to keep from wallowing in its own filth on a daily basis? They wouldn't. No reasonably intelligent being with even the slightest sense of self-awareness and dignity would. Absolutely none.

Coming on Monday: a new Secret Poll, The Secret Quiz, Week 1, Question 3 and The Secret Quiz, Week 2, Question 1. Brace yourselves.
