According to some layabouts on the red planet, there are two similar types of automatons designed for the defense of humanity. What then, is the difference between Pusher robots and Shover robots, and what is their common purpose?

Bonus: What is the theme of The Secret Quiz: Week 1?

The pusher robot shoves, the shover robot pushes.  Do not trust the pusher robot, he is malfunctioning.  Only the shover robot protects us from the terrible secret of space.

Correct! "The Terrible Secret of Space" is a song by The Laziest Men on Mars. The song, based on an instant-messaging prank, purports that robots exist to protect humans from the terrible secret of space. How do they do this? By pushing and/or shoving the humans down the stairs! (Please stand by the stairs.) Contrary to their names, the pusher robot shoves and the shover robot pushes, and each believes its method to be the only true protection from the terrible secret of space. Pak chooie unf!

Point to cmdln!

Oh, nice, now we've got a three-way tie!

Let's recap the questions:

Question 1

Tell me the alter-ego most commonly associated with each name listed below.

1. Batman - Bruce Wayne.
2. The Green Hornet - Britt Reid.
3. Deep Throat - William Mark Felt.
4. The Lone Ranger - John Reid.
5. Bartman - Bart Simpson.
6. A.N. Roquelaure - Anne Rice.
7. Underdog - Shoeshine Boy.
8. Zorro - Don Diego de la Vega.
9. Fake Steve Jobs - Daniel Lyons.
10. The Scarlet Pimpernel - Sir Percy Blakeney.

Question 2

Q: Mrs. Frisby is in search of a rechargeable power source that uses a hydrogen-absorbing alloy for the negative electrode and nickel oxyhydroxide for the positive electrode. What sort of power source will meet Mrs. Frisby's requirements?

A: Nickel Metal Hydride (or NiMH) rechargeable batteries.

Question 3

Q: According to some layabouts on the red planet, there are two similar types of automatons designed for the defense of humanity. What then, is the difference between Pusher robots and Shover robots, and what is their common purpose?

A: The pusher robot shoves and the shover robot pushes. Both robots are here to protect humans from the terrible secret of space.

Someone hit me with the theme and we'll declare a super-awesome winner.

Then I guess "The Secret of N.I.M.H." which I totally forgot existed, and now I want to either read or watch it.

Close enough! (Yeah, I know the rules say "show your work" and all, but we're mid-way through Week 2 and I really want to close this one out.)

Question 1 involved secret identities.
Question 2 was a sly (to me, anyway) reference to The Secret of N.I.M.H., as Nycteris correctly guessed. I even threw in both the book and movie versions of the protagonist's name (Mrs. Frisby in the book was changed to Mrs. Brisby in the movie to avoid any possible legal action from the Frisbee folks).
Question 3 involved "The Terrible Secret of Space".

The theme: SECRETS.

Whoops, and I can't follow rules.

Yay, I've never seen a forum with a quiz like this - I think the idea of getting a title from a quiz is extremely clever!

(I know the other board I am on got so frustrated they just deleted everyone's titles - this would have prevented frustration like that.)
