Muahaha! The Overlords are sleeping so I'm starting the thread about their latest pile of dubious drivel.
Overlord Johnson teases:
One tidbit about the Middle Ages that Wikipedia curiously omits is that it was during this time period that we chose John Scalzi’s Old Man’s War for The Secret Library. Then came the Black Death—which was totally not our fault—and Overlord Miller’s subsequent flight to California. During the ensuing chaos, we lost track of time1 and a few things wound up slipping through the cracks.
That’s all been straightened out now, and at last we are able to present our discussion of Old Man’s War.
Listen Here! Now, having listened to them, you may commence with paying attention to me.
I am not a fan of military sci-fi, but when three of my most well-respected villains all get behind an author and his tales, attention must be paid. So I guess I'll have to go get Old Man's War and read it.
Now, as to the choice of
Lamb: the Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal, I must say huzzah, bravo, and holy crap it's about time you noodleheads caught up. 'Tis an exceptional book, I tell you, enough so that I can give it my full misfit endorsement. I have faith that most of you will enjoy it. The only book I've enjoyed more in the past several months was
Fool, also by Christopher Moore, and that one wins because I listened to the incredible Euan Morton reading it on the way home from Chicago in early May. (BTW, all rumors as to Lord Vandermore's dwindling nefariousness are greatly overblown, I can tell you from personal experience. Dude kidnapped me and carted me all over Lake County even though I had a client meeting to go to, just to prove he could do it.)
Anyhow, have fun with
Lamb, for I guarantee, it will have fun with you.
