@Cobalt: True. It's dated. This is because of some issued I've had with the Hyperspatial Syndicator developing here in The Secret Lair West. The episode was recorded a while ago, and the post itself was lost in the pattern buffer. Luckily, our Chief (and yet silent) Engineer knew just where to kick it.

We'll work on posting in a more timely matter in the future. Or the past. Depending.

I agree with Cobalt. Primeval is fairly good, better than Fringe in several ways, but unfortunately for me, something I can't watch often. I have also found that Hulu has Sancuary and Eureka, in addition to older shows like Total Recall 2070 and Cleopatra 2525.

BTW - in Fringe, the "organization" that the protagonists work for? The FBI.

So I'm guessing I'm the fourth listener who didn't go to DragonCon. Thanks for reading the Parsec Award winners!

I love the banter you guys have back and forth, even on subjects I already know about. It's just entertaining rambling. :-}

The stuff about Fringe is a bit dated now that they're into the 6th or 7th episode, but I have to agree with Miller on his reservations. It's...not as good as it could be, even with some amusing characters and bizarre situations. I'd recommend a show on the BBC (they have a budget now!) for a similar 'secret agency investigates/combats weirdness' formula, but one that seems to get it /right/ both in writing and special effects (vastly better than most of the Sci-Fi Channel). It's got a sexy cast and just enough interdepartmental intrigue. And no, it's not Torchwood, though it's very similar. It's a show called Primeval, about weird portals discharging dinosaurs, giant mammoths, weird hyperevolved bats from the future, instead of aliens. I've only watched the last two episodes but now I'm hooked and I have to go back and find the previous ones.

Anyway, check it out sometime. It's on Comcast On Demand under BBC America, which is how I found it. But there's always the glorious interwebs to find the earlier episodes. Primeval. It's coming close to the end of the first season, I think.
